LYLES, Tenn. -- Animals seized in a Hickman County raid were on their way to better homes on Friday, with shelters from across the United States taking in the animals.
Video: Rescued Animals Taken To Shelters Across U.S.No charges have been filed against Patricia Adkisson, the owner of the property.Authorities said because there were so many animals involved, the investigation will take awhile to complete.
The Human Society said a total of 682 dogs, 25 cats, 23 horses, four parrots and 13 chickens were seized from the farm.Twelve animals were found dead on the property.The public can help by giving the Humane Society supplies such as straw, animal food and paper towels. Veterinarians can volunteer their time to help treat the animals.Supplies can be dropped off at the Hickman County Sheriff's Office at 108 College Ave. in Centerville. Residents can also contact the Hickman County Humane Society at 1-866-304-3352.
