NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- An elderly woman who was trapped in an overnight house fire in south Nashville died Saturday morning, officials at Vanderbilt Medical Center said.

Officials said the woman was in a house on Salem Drive when the fire broke out.

She suffered smoke inhalation and severe burns, VMC officials said.

Paramedics performed CPR and were able to revive her when they pulled her out of the burning house, they said.
