KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. -- Interstate 40 at the Kingston Springs exit in Cheatham County was shut down for six hours overnight after a hit-and-run crash.Slideshow: Two Children Hurt In I-40 CrashTwo children were hurt in the crash, one critically.Authorities said the crash happened about 9 p.m. Monday and involved two trucks.
Gary S. Williams, the man who police believe caused the wreck, was later arrested in Bellevue after he left the crash site.As of Tuesday afternoon, Williams was in a Cheatham County jail. He has a bond hearing Wednesday morning.He has been charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident and vehicular assault.The Tennessee Highway Patrol's criminal investigation division spent a large portion of early Tuesday morning examining the crash site.
