MOUNT PLEASANT, Tenn. -- Thousands of gallons of sewage were flowing onto a road in Mount Pleasant on Friday after a pipe broke.Officials were able stop the sewage flow around 10:30 a.m., but the sewage had already started gathering on the road near the new waste water lagoon system. The pump feeding the pipe was shut off while the breach was fixed.
Engineers said the recent heavy rains probably caused the problem.
