NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A Nashville interstate was shut down for several hours Sunday morning after a serious crash.Interstate 65 south, near Harding Road, was completely shut down shortly before 6 a.m.Police said the driver of a tractor-trailer experienced a gust of wind and over corrected, causing the driver to flip the truck on its side.Another big rig attempted to avoid the crash but lost control and struck the center retainer wall and ended up in the tree line.
Steel pipes flew off the truck, and some of the pipes landed in the northbound lanes.A driver in a Nissan Pathfinder couldn't stop in time and struck the overturned truck, officials said.The passengers in the Pathfinder and overturned truck had to be cut out of their vehicles, officials said.Everyone was taken to Vanderbilt with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.The interstate in both directions reopened Sunday at about noon.
