NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Some customers are worried about their personal information after a local day care went out of business and left their files behind.

The bank foreclosed on the property in December, and earlier this week someone took items from the former business.

"About a year ago some lady took over that nursery. It was called Big Momma's or something like that. It didn't last long," said neighbor Richard Reeves.

On Thursday, there was a basket of baby dolls, books, toys and papers scattered all over the property.

Customer files were also laying in the yard, which included names, phone numbers, addresses, Social Security numbers and extensive medical records.

But neighbors said that there was even more items in the yard recently.

"It looked like Wal-Mart out there. I don't know what they had. Desks, little tables, there were gobs of stuff and lots of people," said Reeves.

They took what they wanted, possibly even some of that personal paperwork.

Channel 4 talked to the former owner on the phone. She said the bank locked the doors, and she was never allowed to go back inside to secure the files.

Also, she was never told that her stuff was going to be left outside unsecured.

As far as the neighbors are concerned, they just want someone to clean up the mess.

"I don't know what to think of it. (I don't know) why someone hasn't picked it up. I don’t know why Metro hasn't been here," said neighbor Jack Shepherd.

Channel 4 talked with some of the people listed on the paper work, who were upset that their files weren't properly secured.

A friend of the former owner came by to pick up the remaining papers.

It's not clear if any other files are missing.

Metro police was also called to the home on Wednesday after someone broke into the building, but it was unclear if anything was taken.
