NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A civil case concerning convicted killer Perry March has concluded with the court ruling that March has lost custody of his children.
Video: March Loses Appeal For Custody Of ChildrenEven though March is serving a 56-year prison sentence for the murder of his wife, Janet, in 1996, he still wanted to see his children, Samson and Tzipora, returned to Mexico with his wife, Carmen. The United States Court of Appeals said the children will stay with the parents of their slain mother, Larry and Carolyn Levine, until they are grown.
March had argued that his children were illegally abducted from Mexico by the court system and should be returned. The Levines countered that argument by saying that Carmen March is not the mother of the children, and that they were not abducted and were actually expelled from Mexico. The court of appeals was unanimous in their decision. They found that there was no evidence that Carmen March ever legally adopted the children.Furthermore, Perry March cannot invoke any kind of international law to fight the case since he is imprisoned. March Loses Fight In Property Suit In a separate case that was decided by the Tennessee Supreme Court, the March family must pay the Levines $222,000 for items the court believes belonged to Perry March's slain wife and should have never been removed from the couple's Forest Hills home. One legal item concerning Perry March still has not been resolved and that concerns the appeal of his criminal convictions.
