Birch Building in Nashville.Metro undercover detective Steve Ray took the stand and described a day late in February when he received a tip that Haines would be getting a shipment of steroids."We watched Scott Haines from that morning until late that night. We followed him every where he went until about 5 o'clock in the afternoon he met with a man in a white truck at the Home Depot in Lebanon. He got the bag out and it had 20 boxes or 200 viles of human growth hormone inside the bag. Inside the cooler that he had, he had two 20 milliliter bottles of anabolic steroids and syringes," said Ray.
Metro police said that Haines is connected to three Metro officers under investigation for steroids. Two state troopers and a Murfreesboro police officer are also part of the steroid investigation.Haines remains in custody. A court date will likely be announced in a few months.Federal, Nashville and state authorities are all involved in the case.
