NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The family of a teenager who was severely injured when he was hit by a car at a bus stop is doing "pretty well."Joshua Castle's family said they're touched by the support they've received from people they don't even know."The family would like to give their thanks to God, first and foremost, and the doctors and medical team at Vanderbilt University Hospital. The family would also like to give thanks for the thoughts and prayers of everyone involved, because they truly do make a difference," the family said in a release.Castle's grandmother, Carole Cutshaw, said the family is doing as well as they can.
"We're doing pretty well. We're trusting in God. Because we're believing the report of the Lord, and we're believing that he's going to come through this," she said.Castle was walking to Northwest High School earlier this week on Purple Heart Highway in Clarksville when a car hit him.Police don't think anyone was breaking the law, they just said it was an awful accident. It happened early in the morning while it was still dark.Castle remains in the hospital in very serious condition."He is in a deep coma and suffers from a multitude of broken bones and internal injuries. He has had a number of surgeries, including one to amputate his left leg," the release stated.A fund has been set up for Castle, and donations can be made at any F and M Bank in Castle's name.
