COLUMBIA, Tenn. -- There is a ray of sunshine to be found in all of the state’s severe weather. The Normandy Reservoir is up by almost 4 feet thanks to the rainfall in recent months. It still has another 20 feet to go before it's considered out of danger, officials said. The target level for summer is 875 feet, and even with the recent runoff from rain, it stands right now at just about 856 feet. The lake supplies water to about 250,000 Tennessee residents. It was half empty and dropping as recently as December, according to a previous Channel 4 report. If the lake had dropped to 844 feet, Coffee County would have run out of water. There's still concern that residents could run out of water by summer.
