A church that was recently hit by vandals has been destroyed by fire.

The Cookeville Herald-Citizen reported that Copeland's Chapel nondenominational church in White County burned Wednesday morning.

The fellowship hall is OK, and the pastor said the church members might meet in that building.

Thieves vandalized the church about a month ago and stole the copper wiring and heating and air conditioning unit.

It was unclear how the fire started.
