FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- An $800,000 townhouse was destroyed by fire in Williamson County on Friday, officials said.Images: Fire Destroys Pricy Franklin Townhome The fire happened early Friday morning in the Park Run section of McKay's Mill in Franklin. The building was not occupied at the time of the blaze and no one was hurt while fighting it.
The Franklin Fire Department was at the scene Friday afternoon to control what fire was left and construction crews from Jones Construction Company were knocking down the building to prevent possible damage to adjacent buildings. There were sprinklers in the unit, but water had not yet been turned on because no one was living in the home.A resident claimed to have heard a loud pop early Friday, and the fire marshal said a propane heater might have been the cause of the fire. The heater had been left on all night, which is not unusual, a representative of Jones Company said. A representative also said that the company doesn’t think the heater was the cause. The building was insured, officials said.
