NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Metro police said more arrests are likely in connection with the laptops stolen from the election commission offices in December.
Detectives said they are still in the middle of the investigation and are not ready to name other suspects. However, they said Robert Osbourne, the homeless man charged with breaking into the election office, will likely not be the only person arrested when the case is completed.
"To accomplish that, first of all, we are going to have to do some re-interviewing and make sure the people we are looking at can be identified by the people who are giving me this information," said Metro Police Detective Rick Mavity.Investigators believe Osbourne sold the computer hard drives. They were found last week at a closed downtown coffee shop called The Muse.Police said the computers are still being tested by computer forensics experts but initial tests indicate that the computers likely will offer clues. They said it did not appear thieves accessed voters' Social Security numbers from laptops.
