The Country Music Hall of Fame is getting in on a lawsuit against a philanthropist who donated two prized instruments to it.

Bob McLean donated Mother Maybelle Carter's guitar and Bill Monroe's mandolin to the Hall of Fame.

He was also a big giver to Middle Tennessee State University.

McLean killed himself after several of his investors sued him for stealing $40 million.

There's been speculation that the Hall of Fame might lose the instruments to help pay back the investors.

The Hall of Fame is now part of the lawsuit claiming McLean still owed it more than $870,000.
