Waiting for justice can be just as difficult for crime victims as the initial crime, especially if the crime cost a loved one’s life.

VIDEO: Families Of Shooting Victims Upset After Suspects' Hearing Delay

Family and friends are starting to learn that lesson after two restaurant workers were slain last week.

On Friday, the families were prepared to face the suspects only to find out they wouldn't have the chance because the hearing had been postponed.

"I think I want to look at him eye-to-eye. I just want to see if he can look at me,” said Lance Martin, Joshua Cole’s father.

Cole and Chris Caris were found shot to death inside the White Bridge Road Bellacino’s. Jason Bobo and Crystle Rutherford are charged with what police called the execution-style shooting of Caris and Cole.

“I'd like to see him get the death penalty. That’s what I'd like to see,” said Cole’s brother, Collin Martin.

Family and friends had barely made it into the courtroom on Friday before learning that the hearing for Bobo and Rutherford had been postponed.

“It's very frustrating. You want something done as quickly as possible,” said Crystal Martin, Cole’s sister in law.

Bobo was a former employee who had been fired for stealing. Police said robbery was the motive.

Memorials to Caris and Cole have covered the front of the restaurant since the shootings a week ago.

“I don't understand how come we’re going to have to wait another 30 days. It's going to be a long 30 days,” Lance Martin said.

Lance Martin wore a shirt with his son's face on the front. Collin Martin clung to his wife, Crystal, for support.

“He was a good kid; an honor student, athletic. He was real intelligent,” he said.

“Nights are rough. Going to sleep and waking up. It’s like living a dream. We keep waking up looking for him,” Lance Martin said.

The hearing has been rescheduled for later this month. Preliminary hearings are often continued.

Family members said they plan to be there for the next one.
