NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Police said they captured a man suspected of killing two employees at the Nashville pizza shop where he used to work and also arrested an 18-year-old female in connection with the case.
Jason Bobo, 21, was found at a home located at 2546 Highland Trace Drive north of downtown Nashville where he had been hiding in the attic. Police said that after 15 minutes of talking, he decided to give up.Bobo was taken into custody at around 3 p.m. Monday by Metro officers and U.S. Marshals.
The woman who lived at the home, Misty Judd, was also arrested for initially refusing to let officers inside. Police believe he had been hiding at the home since late Sunday night.Crystle Rutherford, 18, a high school senior at Whites Creek High School, was also arrested Monday night and charged with two counts of criminal homicide. She has confessed to being part of the robbery and shootings but had no previous criminal record. Police said she did not pull the trigger that led to the deaths of the workers but was armed with a pistol during the robbery."She was fully a full participant in the robbery. She was there with a gun. She was terrorizing the victim just as much as Bobo," said Metro police spokesman, Don Aaron.Police said it appears the Bobo and Rutherford were friends and she was along for the ride to help Bobo target Bellacino’s after he'd been fired from the store five months earlier for stealing.Speaking to Channel 4 from a window on Tuesday, Rutherford's grandmother apologized to the victim's families. Some of Rutherford's classmates said that she was a quiet student who kept to herself.Police chief Ronal Serpas said he hopes the case merits the death penalty for Bobo.Police believe Bobo, a former employee at Bellacino's Pizza & Grinders, killed two people at the Nashville pizzeria on Friday.Police spokesman Don Aaron said witnesses identified Bobo as the man shot restaurant workers Chris Caris and Joshua Cole during a robbery at the business on White Bridge Road.Bobo was fired from Bellacino's in May for theft. Police believe two other people may be involved as well. Police said surveillance video from the restaurant assisted in the identification of Bobo.Four employees and one customer were inside the restaurant when the robbery occurred. The men ordered everyone to get on the floor, then told the 33-year-old Caris to get money from the office.Caris was shot and died on the floor of the office. Cole, who was 18, was shot as he lay face down on the kitchen floor. The other two employees and the customer were not hurt.
