Williamson County Looks To Resolve Illegal Immigration Problem

FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- In Williamson County, deputies are trying to get their hands around the problems posed by illegal immigration. Special Section: Immigration In America "Thirty-six percent of all the inmates booked into the Williamson County jail since January the first are in this country illegally," said Williamson County Sheriff Ricky Headley.Out of the 36 percent that have been jailed, half were arrested for driving without a license.Headley said Thursday that he would like to cooperate with new programs to integrate local law officers with immigration enforcement.However, he said that he still has concerns about how it will work out.
