FRANKLIN, Tenn. -- Hazardous chemicals are still leaking into the Harpeth River in Williamson County.Five months ago, chemicals normally used in paint thinners were discovered in Franklin's Liberty Creek. The creek empties into the Harpeth River.The materials leaked from the nearby Egyptian Lacquer plant.Crews have been removing pollutants, but recent water samples show chemicals are still reaching the water.
The Harpeth River Watershed Association wants the state to get tougher on the clean up and investigation.
