Firefighters were called to a house fire in Antioch Tuesday morning.

Two homes were destroyed in the blaze and two other homes near the fire suffered damage.

Firefighters called the fire a very intense, very strong blaze.

They said the fire started in one house at about 10:15 a.m. and spread quickly to the others.

Officials said some of the homeowners were home at the time but that no one was hurt.

Residents of the home that caught fire ran across the street to get help from a neighbor who is also a Nashville firefighter.

“So I just started going door to door with some other neighbors and knocking and trying to get everybody out of the houses to make sure everything was safe. It appeared no one was in any of the other houses,” Jerry Brown said.

Brown said when he saw the fire that he believed the home would be a total loss.

Officials said a cause for the fire has not been determined.

Pleasant View Fire Destroys Business

A Tuesday morning fire in Pleasant View completely destroyed a warehouse.

Firefighters said the fire started at about 8 a.m. at the A.J. Bender Warehouse.

Volunteer firefighters said they had several obstacles in battling the fire in the rural area, including a water supply.

They said there are not a lot of fire hydrants in the area and the access road to the warehouse location is very narrow and caused them trouble getting to and from the fire scene.

Firefighters said they do not know how the fire started.

The warehouse contains a plant that makes pipe benders but no one was at the plant when it started.

Officials said no toxic gases were released into the air and that the area was safe.

Firefighters said they got assistance from the White House, Springfield and Ashland City Fire Departments and were thankful for the help.

“We’re a volunteer department so staffing is always a concern, but the other concern with this building is the access. We only had one access road in there,” he said.

The warehouse owner said the building was a total loss but that he was thankful no one was hurt.
