NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Emergency measures are being taken to prevent a break of the Wolf Creek Dam in Kentucky.Monday, authorities began lowering the water level on the dam to reduce pressure on the structure and stop the leaking.Wolk Creek Dam is in need of multimillion-dollar repairs, authorities said, but it isn't alone. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers placed Wolf Creek and Center Hill Dam on its top five list of urgent dam projects. If either structure fails, officials said, several midstate cities, including Nashville, could be flooded.Authorities in Wilson County said they are urging families to prepare, just in case. They suggest gathering essential items like food, flashlights and blankets, as well as identification so they can prove residency. They also recommended a first-aid kit be prepared.
