A former teacher serving an eight-year prison sentence for having sex with a 13-year-old male student agreed in a plea deal Wednesday to serve two more years for sending him nude pictures of herself.

Pamela Rogers, 29, pleaded guilty to two counts of solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor at a hearing attended by her parents and the father of the boy, now 15. The new sentence must be served after her first term is finished.

Rogers, her long blonde hair twisted in a pony tail, wore a black and white striped inmate jump suit as she stood handcuffed and told Circuit Judge Bart Stanley she understood she was giving up her right to a trial and dropping appeals as part of the plea deal. Prosecutors dropped two other counts of the same charge.

A former beauty queen, Rogers was back in court six months after she stood before Stanley crying and pleading for mercy as she faced punishment for violating probation by sending the boy sexually explicit pictures of her herself.

Rogers was first arrested in February 2005 and pleaded no contest to charges of having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the student who attended the rural Centertown Elementary School where she was then teaching.

She served six months in jail and got a lengthy probation on those charges under the condition that she not contact the student or his family or use the Internet.

But she soon she sent the boy what the judge described as "lewd" videos and pictures of herself nude and engaged in sex and text messages.

The judge decided that broke the terms of her probation and ordered Rogers to serve the rest of her suspended sentence in prison.

Rogers' attorney, Peter Strianse of Nashville, said after the hearing that he didn't know why she violated the judge's order to stay away from the boy or why she had sex with him.

"She had become obsessed with him," Strianse said. "I think she is over that."

Rogers, who played basketball at Tennessee Tech and Cumberland University, got her first job teaching physical education and coaching girls basketball near McMinnville, a town of about 13,000 residents 65 miles southeast of Nashville. She was married when the relationship with the boy began but she has since divorced.

Rogers' mother, Karen Rogers, previously wrote a letter to the judge asking for leniency, saying a bad marriage had destabilized her daughter emotionally.

"She is still our daughter and we still love her," her mother said after the Wednesday hearing.

The defendant's father, Lamar Rogers, said the family is "just looking forward to getting this behind us. We are doing good. Everything is going to be all right. We're being as positive as possible."

A clinical psychologist hired by Rogers' family testified in July that Rogers should be treated for "sexual addiction."

The boy's father said outside the courthouse after the hearing that his son "is just great .... I know it's been tough on him. It's been tough on everybody. I'm not bitter. I'm forgiving. It's her fault. She got what she deserves."

Strianse said Rogers is adjusting well to life at the state women's prison. She's working at the cafeteria and hoping to get a clerical job with TennCare at the prison and is involved in the inmate athletic program.

Strianse said he was hopeful Rogers would be paroled in early 2008, but there is no guarantee of early release.
