7 Fires Damage Bedford Co. Property

Firefighters were busy Thursday in Bedford County with seven fires, four of which damaged local barns, said Mark Holt with the Bedford Fire Department.

All of the fires occurred within a two to three mile area in the northern part of the county. The first fire call came to authorities at 2:32 a.m. and the last fire call came at 4:20 a.m.

Other property that was damaged in the fires included one vehicle and two haystacks.

The barn fires occurred on County Line Road, the vehicle fire was on Mankin Road and the haystack fires occurred on Smith Road.

Crews from both Bedford and Rutherford counties responded to the fires.

No people or animals were hurt in the blazes.
