Mayoral Candidates Release Final Financial Reports

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Channel 4 News got one last look at how much money Nashville's candidates for mayor have leading up to next week's election.

Campaign finance reports filed Thursday show Karl Dean brought in more than twice the money of any other candidate.

However, Dean’s $356,000 figure includes his own $325,000 contribution to his campaign. Bob Clement brought in more than $115,000, David Briley $62,000, Howard Gentry $53,000 and Buck Dozier raised almost $47,000 so far this month.

Dean also leads in candidate spending. He spent almost $397,000 this month.

Clement is close behind at $383,000, and Briley spent $244,000. Gentry spent $141,000, and Dozier spent $120,000.

Cheryl Tisdale didn't raise any money, and the election commission had not received Kenneth Eaton's report by the 4:30 p.m. deadline.
