NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- During Friday's state budget hearings for the 2010-2011 fiscal year, it was announced that the Department of Children's Services may have to cut as many as 344 positions.
The jobs that could be eliminated include case workers, the closure of group homes and the downsizing of youth development centers.All of the funding to juvenile courts for diversion programs would also be eliminated, and 20 percent of contracted services could be gone.
