The program is sponsored by Nashville Electric and the civic group Kilowatt Ours.

At the workshop, homeowners and renters will learn no-cost methods to reduce their electric bills. In some cases, residents will be able to save hundreds of dollars on their bills.

Among the methods; lowering the thermostat, even in the winter months; simple caulking; and hot-water efficiency.

"People have the perception that in order to save money you have to save money," said Laurie Parker of Nashville Electric.

The Kilowatt Ours Neighborhood Initiative Workshop is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Salem AME Church, located at 1800 4th Ave. North in Nashville.
