NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A bigger water bill is right around the corner for most in Nashville, but Bellevue and Madison residents won't be forced to pay higher fees until the fall.Customers who don't get a monthly bill from Metro Water won't be billed until October.Officials said it is more cost-effective for them to send out quarterly bills for the fee, which covers three months of service. The fee -- about $3 to $4 a month -- starts July 1 for Metro Water customers. It will pay for improvements to storm drains and other equipment, which will ultimately help reduce flooding during severe weather.
