Water Company Adjusts Billing Timetable

Quarterly Bills More Cost-Effective, Say Officials

A bigger water bill is right around the corner for most in Nashville, but Bellevue and Madison residents won't be forced to pay higher fees until the fall.

Customers who don't get a monthly bill from Metro Water won't be billed until October.

Officials said it is more cost-effective for them to send out quarterly bills for the fee, which covers three months of service.

The fee -- about $3 to $4 a month -- starts July 1 for Metro Water customers. It will pay for improvements to storm drains and other equipment, which will ultimately help reduce flooding during severe weather.
