Keep Gas Prices Level With Petrofix

Company Compensates Drivers Who Lock-In Price

There is a new way that residents can lock-in today's gas prices and not pay a penny more in the future.

Two men with degrees in economics have started an online business called Petrofix.

"It's a service that allows you to contain gas prices and control your budget, so if gas prices rise, we compensate you the difference," said Edward Lee of Petrofix.

Here's how it works: the gas buyer estimate how many gallons of gas they will use in a month. The consumer then locks in a price and pays a small fee per gallon.

If the average gas price goes up, the company pays the difference to the consumer. If prices fall, you can still get your gas at the lower prices without being locked-in.
