Drivers who currently deliver the daily paper to the affected residents have handed out fliers notifying them of the end of this service.

On the flier, there is a number that allows subscribers to voice their opinion on this decision.

A worker at the Tennessean said that in the past 24 hours they have received about 200 calls from people complaining about the loss of delivery service.

The daily circulation for these nine counties, which includes subscriptions as well as newsstands, is 3,000 people.

The Tennessean's vice president told Channel 4 that while fuel costs are a factor, this is not the only reason for the decision, and they are calling it a "strategic move."

The nine counties will no longer receive newspaper deliveries starting on July 27.
