LAFAYETTE, Tenn. -- A teacher in Macon County accused of paddling a 5-year-old so hard she left bruises won't face charges right now. The District Attorney's office said that they have not filed child abuse charges against Teresa Gregory at this point, but they said the investigation isn't over.Gregory was suspended for five days without pay for paddling Courtney Biggers.Macon County Director of Schools Darrel Law said Gregory shouldn't have spanked the kindergartner twice.Gregory has apologized to the girl's parents for the incident, and Courtney has been removed from her class.
