LAFAYETTE, Tenn. -- When tornadoes ripped through Macon County earlier this year, there was no warning system in place. However, a new system has been put in place. The county's weather alert siren in Lafayette, which has been silent for years, is working again. The siren will go off any time the county is under a severe storm or tornado warning. To make sure it works, it will be tested at noon on the first Saturday of each month.
