About half of Metro students signed up for the shot or mist vaccination when it was first available in September. Since then, that number has dropped at middle and high schools.

To help, the Metro Health Department is revisiting several schools in the area.

"Ten schools is a massive undertaking (which includes) equipment, vaccine, plus staffing 10 schools," said Becky Green with the health department. "It has taken an enormous amount of our resources."

The department hopes to vaccinate several thousand students in Metro Schools before Feb. 4.

Children who are not able to get their vaccination at school can still get a shot at the Lentz Public Health Center in Nashville. The center is open to the public. The vaccinations are free.
