Health Care Reform Meeting Held In Columbia

Town Hall Event Held At Columbia State Community College

Democratic U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis hosted a health care town hall meeting in Maury County on Wednesday evening.

The event took place at Columbia State Community College in the Waymon Hickman Building, Cherry Theater. About 500 people were in attendance and many had to be turned away because of capacity restrictions.

Republican U.S. Rep. Marsh Blackburn held a formal town hall meeting last Friday in Franklin. About 500 showed up for the meeting, and hundreds more were turned away due to space issues.

  • Aug. 25: Face-to-face office hours, starting at 9 a.m., at the Putnam County Courthouse (300 E. Spring St., Cookeville 38501).

  • Aug. 26: Face-to-face office hours, starting at 9 a.m., at the Sumner County Courthouse (100 Public Sq., Room B-100, Gallatin 37066).

  • Aug. 26: Town hall meeting, moderated by Mike Towle of The News-Examiner at 7 p.m. in Gallatin. Location TBD.

    The telephone town hall meetings are scheduled for Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. and Aug. 31 at 6 p.m.

    Sen. Bob Corker held a town hall meeting in Paris Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the Henry County Courthouse (101 W. Washington Street, Paris 38242) The event was open the public.

  • Aug. 21: 2 p.m. in the County Courthouse's Chancery Courtroom in Jacksboro

  • Aug. 24: 1 p.m. in the County Administrative Building's Magnolia Room in McMinnville
