Sumner County Student Treated For MRSA
Parents Sent Letter Notifying Them Of Case

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -- School officials said that a Sumner County student has been diagnosed with MRSA.The student, who attends T.W. Hunter Middle School, got sick with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and is doing fine after being treated.As a precaution, parents have being sent a letter notifying them of the case.School officials said the child's classroom was thoroughly disinfected.MRSA is particularly worrisome to health officials because it can be resistant to antibiotics.
