Cordenus Eddings - District 7

Cordenus A. Eddings was raised in a loving family and graduated from public schools. As a result, she knows every child in Nashville schools can succeed.

Interview: Cordenus Eddings (9 Minutes)

With a degree in Business Administration already completed at Tennessee State University, Eddings is now pursuing a Masters degree in Public Administration. In her working career, she has served as legislative liaison to the Governor, senior research analyst in the Tennessee General Assembly, House of Representatives, worked in senior executive management in the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and currently owns her own business.

In addition, Eddings works as a substitute teacher for Metro schools. With her experience in the classrooms of schools across the district, she has first-hand knowledge of the challenges and problems that teachers face daily as they work to educate students in a metropolitan school system. Combined with her understanding of the government administrative process, this experience helps her understand the type of administrative support and policies that teachers need to help them reach peak performance in the classroom. Good teachers who get good administrative support will produce an excellent public school system.

Eddings is running for the school board because she has a passion to see all children succeed, but in order for them to succeed they must be equipped. Her plan is to ensure accountability, increase academic achievement and elevate educational opportunities for all children.

She will communicate with the community – not from behind a desk but by getting involved in active conversations and actions to help Nashville parents get the schools their children deserve. Her active involvement will leave no doubt among constituents that their school board member is working hard to change both the perception and the reality for the schools in District 7.

All of her experience and education has uniquely prepared Eddings to bring leadership, action, accountability, results and a renewed spirit to Nashville public schools. She is the ideal school board member for District 7 because she knows that our children should be the focus of everything we do for schools in Nashville.
