Storm damage forced a family from its home in Dickson Tuesday night.

Winds blew a tree into the home’s roof, and emergency officials said a swing set in the yard helped lessen the damage of the blow.

A mother and her young daughter were inside the home at the time and were not hurt.

The tree punched a hole in the ceiling allowing the rain to come in, which did some damage to the floors.

Neighbors said a nearby creek rose several inches due to the heavy rain, and residents said several other trees and power lines were down in the area.
