Dickson County Landfill Lawsuit Settled

DICKSON, Tenn. -- Dickson County has settled for $400,000 from a company that dumped toxic waste into their landfill a few years ago.

The county had originally filed the lawsuit for $4 million.

That toxic waste eventually got into the groundwater and is thought to have caused a number of diseases in the community including cancer.

The county said the low offer was accepted in favor of dragging the case out and costing the county untold amounts in legal bills.
