NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Metro's new budget takes effect Wednesday, and that means no more visits to the downtown library -- whose budget was cut by 5.5 percent -- on Mondays.The library on Church Street will be open Tuesday through Thursday and will close at 6 p.m. instead of 8 p.m.This comes at a time when more people are using the library's free Internet service to look for jobs.Other library branches will be open, but the hours have been cut:Main Library: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; Closed Monday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.Bordeaux Branch Library: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday; Closed Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.Edmondson Pike Branch Library: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday; Closed Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.Green Hills Branch Library: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday; Closed Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.Hermitage Branch Library: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday; Closed Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.Madison Branch Library: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday; Closed Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.Southeast Branch Library: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday; Closed Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.Metro Parks has also cut back hours. Its 12 community centers will be closing two hours early: Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the rest of the summer.Related Links:
