Listen up!

Class is in session.

Well, kids, time to announce that this column is officially on SUMMER HOURS! Woo hoo!

What does that mean? Simply this: instead of a column every single week, yours truly will crank out my squared-circle wisdom only on a week when there's a WWE or TNA pay-per-view.

That's the schedule from now until September 30, just so you know.

That bit of business out of the way, let's get figure out what happened at WWE's "Judgment Day" pay-per-view.

Challenge Match: C.M. Punk vs. Umaga
What Should Happen: Two wrestlers who not so long ago got monster pushes now just serve to fill out the card. Punk, who holds the Money In The Bank suitcase with a title shot inside, should drop this one. He needs to build up a big losing streak so when he does grab a WWE title, it'll be a shocker.

What Will Happen: Umaga wins. Punk has the suitcase, so he doesn't need to win until his title shot kicks in.

Question To Ponder: Why are both of these guys in the doghouse?

What Did Happen: Umaga won with a clean pin.

Intercontinental Championship: Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Chris Jericho
What Should Happen: Too many great wrestlers, but only two major singles titles. That's the reality in WWE, as these two clash in what should be an entertaining affair. I'd keep the belt on Mysterio, just to tweak the always-irritated Jericho.

What Will Happen: Mysterio will retain.

Question To Ponder: Is the suddenly-paunchy Jericho eating too many Doritos?

What Did Happen: Mysterio won a dandy to retain his belt.

Challenge Match: John Cena vs. The Big Show
What Should Happen: At "Backlash," Edge won Cena's title when Show interfered and tossed Cena into a big stage light. This is the return grudge match. To be honest, this will be a test to see how well Cena can carry a match. Show is still Slow as ever, and is really hard to watch. Still love him on the mic, but he needs help in the ring. What should happen here is a Show victory with interference from Cena's next opponent, The Miz.

What Will Happen: Big Show wins via outside interference.

Question To Ponder: Did anyone, anywhere see "12 Rounds?"

What Did Happen: Cena pinned Show cleanly.

ECW Championship Match: Christian (c) vs. Jack Swagger
What Should Happen: I'm going to go out on a limb and say that ECW has vastly improved over the past few months. Swagger gets credit, as does Christian. But Christian is better served spewing his babyface venom on "Raw" or "Smackdown!" at this point. But I'm guessing he's still in some sort of McMahon-induced Purgatory for bolting to TNA. Sure, he's the ECW champ -- but he should be a WWE champ. As for this one, keep the belt on Christian as long as he's in ECW.

What Will Happen: Christian will keep his belt.

Question To Ponder: Is Swagger the future of WWE?

What Did Happen: Of course Christian won. Wasn't it Judgment Day, after all?

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Edge (c) vs. Jeff Hardy
What Should Happen: I'm torn. The traditionalist in me loves to see the chicken-heel champion win by cheating. The fan in me wants to see Hardy on top for at least a year to see what he can do. This is going to be the show-stealer, kids, so be ready for any result -- and that would be fine with me.

What Will Happen: Edge will retain his title.

Question To Ponder: When does Edge versus Christian start?

What Did Happen: Edge pinned Hardy to keep his belt.

WWE Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. Batista
What Should Happen: Orton should win with help from Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. That sets up a cage match of some variety so they can't interfere next time.

What Will Happen: Orton will retain his belt, but in the sleaziest way possible.

Question To Ponder: Is Batista on steroids, or is that just a lot of quality time in the gym?

What Did Happen: Look at the above line. "Orton will retain his belt, but in the sleaziest way possible." Kids, he kept his belt by getting DQ'd. I am amazing. Also: Ric Flair returned to help Batista fend off Legacy. Woooooo!!!!

That'll do it. WWE "Judgment Day" is in the books. For the record, I was almost perfect -- missing only one match.

Speaking of perfect, the "Old School, New School" podcast is at your fingertips with yet another fresh episode. Listen to me, George Schire and Dr. Mike Lano pontificate about the latest wrestling news and trends RIGHT HERE! Miss it? I think not!

That's it!!

Class is -- dismissed!!!
