Baton Rouge, LA -- (Sports Network) - A.J. Ogilvy posted a career-best 33 points and added 10 rebounds as Vanderbilt upended the 12th-ranked LSU Tigers, 75-67, in an SEC clash from Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Jermaine Beal added 17 points for the Commodores (18-11, 7-8 SEC), who won for the second straight game and will close out their regular-season slate Sunday in hosting Arkansas. Vandy shot a scintillating 51.9 percent from the field.

Brad Tinsley buried a clutch three-pointer and added two free throws in what was a two-point game with 37 seconds to play, propelling the visitors to a comfortable lead and the eventual upset. He finished with eight points.

"We knew LSU was going to make a run; they're such a good team. We were able to knock back their run by hitting some big shots. We had some big shots that were made. It's always great to get a road win," Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings said.

Marcus Thornton paced the Tigers with 18 points and Tasmin Mitchell chipped in 16 points with eight rebounds for LSU (25-5, 13-2), which had already clinched the outright SEC regular season title but saw its 10-game win streak snapped.

Bo Spencer provided 14 points on four three-pointers for the Tigers, who will look to get back on track in their regular-season finale Saturday at Auburn after shooting just 36.2 percent from the floor, including a 6-for-21 effort from beyond the arc.

"It didn't work out the way we wanted it, but I think you have to tip your hat to Vanderbilt. Obviously they played exceptionally well," LSU head coach Trent Johnson said. "They dominated us in the paint. I thought for the most part, we got very good looks offensively. The ball just didn't go down for us, which happens, for all of us."

Vandy wasted little time in taking control early as Ogilvy's jumper capped off a 9-2 spurt and gave the visitors a 22-8 advantage at the nine-minute mark.

A brief 11-6 stretch in favor of the Commodores late in the frame supplied a 35-21 lead. Ogilvy scored five points to carry the run, which ended on a Lance Goulbourne triple with 2:40 to go.

LSU scored the next five points before a Beal dunk was good for a 37-26 halftime lead. The Tigers then made some inroads early in the second half and a pair of Chris Johnson free throws cut the lead to six, 39-33.

Ogilvy helped keep Vandy in the game by netting the first eight points of the stanza on the other end with his free throw six minutes in, allowing for a 45-34 affair.

The Tigers clawed their back, however, and a Spencer three-pointer started a 17-8 surge that saw LSU knot the game at 60 with less than six minutes to go. Spencer dropped another three-ball on the run and Thornton capped things off with a three-point play.

Tinsley responded with the first of his two three-pointers for Vandy and two Ogilvy free throws sent the lead back six, 66-60, with 3 1/2 minutes left.

Another Spencer triple cut the lead to two moments later, but a Beal jumper was followed by Tinsley's second three-ball, this one a dagger, that gave the Commodores a five-point lead, 71-66, with 37 ticks left. Tinsley and Ogilvy were each perfect in a pair of trips to the line that sealed the win.
