WOODBURY, Tenn. -- Authorites on Saturday night said they found the body of a 86-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer's disease whose car was found unoccupied on a mountain road.
Viella Estes had been missing since Tuesday on Short Mountain, a steep and heavily wooded area near Woodbury, about 18 miles east of Murfreesboro.A spokesman for the Cannon County Emergency Management Agency said her body was found about two miles south of her abandoned vehicle, and about 900 feet below it.
Authorities believe she may have passed away two days ago.Search and rescue teams had been joined by volunteers this week searching several trails on the mountain.
