Barbara Grijalva was born and raised in Tucson.
She attended the University of Arizona as a Journalism major and started her broadcast career during college at KIKX-AM radio in Tucson, where she eventually became the News Director.
She then moved to KNST-AM News Talk Radio and held several titles, including Managing Editor.
In 1983 she became part of the KOLD-TV news team, where she is a reporter. Barbara loves Tucson, and enjoys the opportunities her job gives her to play an important role in the community:
"I enjoy reporting on science and health stories. I feel a responsibility to our viewers to keep them informed on issues that could affect them."
Barbara doesn't limit her community involvement to the news - she has held positions on community boards, including 18 years on the boards of Casa de los Ninos Crisis Nursery
A family woman with a career, Barbara is deeply invested in both her work and her hometown: "I love this city. I am a Tucsonan; born here, raised here and raising my family here."
