Schools, parks, and jail improvements are all part of a $133.2 million mid-year metro spending plan that passed its first hurdle tonight. It turns out many of Music City's projects are costing more than expected. You saw it go down the Criminal Justice Center go down in a demolition this past January. Now Mayor Megan Barry is asking for more money to continue putting a new one up. The center is expected to cost $17 million more than what it was originally was budgeted for.
